AI for Teachers
The LearnHouse AI assistant helps teachers create and manage course content more efficiently.
Content Creation Assistance
Teachers can use the AI to accelerate the course-building process:
- Draft generation — Generate initial drafts for activity content based on a topic or outline.
- Content improvement — Refine existing content for clarity, tone, or completeness.
- Quiz creation — Generate quiz questions based on the course material.
Audio & podcast generation
From an activity’s Audio block, the Generate tab turns text into narrated audio using Google Gemini text-to-speech. Three modes are available:
- Text to speech — narrate text you write, in a voice of your choice.
- Podcast (2 voices) — enter a topic (or paste source material) and the AI writes a two-host discussion, which you can review and edit before generating the audio.
- Speak — enter a subject and the AI writes a detailed single-speaker talk, then narrates it.
For the Podcast and Speak modes you can pick a length (from 2 minutes), a language, and a tone/style. The generated script is fully editable before you produce the audio, and the audio is saved to the activity like any uploaded file.
Audio generation uses AI credits: 1 credit to write a script and 3 credits to generate the narration.
AI credits
AI features are metered by per-organization AI credits. Free organizations start with 20 credits so you can try the AI features — including audio generation — before upgrading. When credits run low, the app prompts you to upgrade for a larger monthly allowance.
Course Management
Beyond content creation, the AI can assist with organizing and structuring courses:
- Suggest how to break a topic into chapters and activities.
- Identify gaps in course coverage.
- Recommend improvements based on the existing content structure.
Getting Started
The AI assistant is available from the course editor interface. Make sure your instance has a Google Gemini API key configured via LEARNHOUSE_GEMINI_API_KEY (see AI Setup) and that AI is enabled for your organization.
